Chapter 2:
(1) I'd wondered why layout artist got cover credit. After a few issues, I've realized the layouts maybe the key ingredient why the art's so compelling.
- Details like a flashback of a woman in a lavender sweater, then later, a seemingly random Polaroid of a woman in a lavender sweater. Later, the lighting changes the color, and you wonder if it's the same woman.

Chapter 5:
(1) So, a bittersweet ending, I don't see how a sequel's possible, though I can imagine spin-offs.
- Just when I'm able to recall all the dogs names from memory, I no longer need to.
(2) The last issue has exceptional situational storytelling. You know where everyone is in relation to others, and so it's very logical and satisfying when things click and play out.

Chapter 4:
(1) There's a rainbow unicorn poster that, in a single panel, tells you more than dialogue or captions ever could about everyone in that scene and what's going on.
- Also, an Easter egg nod to the writer's work on "My Little Pony."
- A benefit of artist-led books is the focus on visual storytelling.
(2) Love the twist. Slightly-off mirror worlds are always eerie!

Chapter 3:
(1) Just when I thought the book was getting a bit too repetitive and formulaic, it throws in a curveball.
(2) There are a lot of clues that suggest this is set in the '80s.
- A car radio with a dial, a corded desk phone, Polaroid photos, etc.
- Even the logo is a typical '80s horror font, which is so evocative of the era that it's the "Stranger Things" font too.

Chapter 1:
(1) I don't know what I expected, given the writer's primarily known as the artist on "My Little Pony," not even the writer, and not even the artist here. But, frankly, I'm blown away.
(2) It's a familiar Disney-esque art style that could so easily look like a cash-grab adaptation or juvenile version of a parent series, but it looks substantial in its simplicity.
