Feels a lot like Memoirs of a Geisha - which I loved. But one of the reasons I loved Geisha was the novelty of the world of the historical Asian courtesan. Feel a bit like I've already read this book. I love Amy Tan and have many more pages to go, so she still has plenty of time to surprise me.
