My first impressions: St Teresa of Avila is a mountain of a woman in the church—I mean, she’s literally a doctor of the church. She’s always seemed intimidating and distant to me for that reason. Maybe also because she’s my mom’s namesake and my mom has that same “giantness without realizing it” quality? This humanizes her a lot for me. Hoping to find her a more approachable Saint with this reading!
