Not sure what I was expecting, but this book is really pulling me along. Very Canadian, but with a touch of the "recent immigrant trying to establish themself" which still resonates today. I love the idea of this young girl learning how to thrive in a male dominated family and world. Staring down her Scottish father and nurturing the inner seed that will presumably serve her through life. Looking forward to the rest!
