Still enjoying the biography Jenkins still not likeable however able he was.

Have now finished this excellent biography.Jenkins was slightly more likeable towards the end of his life than earlier.I also recognise how influential he was in shaping modern Britain.However,overall I dislike him.A social climber and a careerist.The book is well worth a read.See if you agree with me.

Fred Pegg is 33% done

Jenkins has just become Chancellor of the Exchequer in 1967.Very smooth and confident ,still do not like him ,but the book is excellent.

An excellent biography by a very fine writer.Not sure I really like Jenkins but I like the book.
