Lina finds Doon in the pipe-works in pursue of something important or at the very least, interesting. She tells him about her discovery, and with little convincing, she gets him to go with her back to her house.

Lina sets off to find Doon from a message she found about pipe works. She hopes he’ll help save the city as he ultimately cares as well.

Farlo Batten is introduced & he is characterized as quite a difficult person, he strives perfection & his general appearance is quite unsettling.

Lina is noticing the shortage of food around Ember City and starting concocting a plan.

Lina enters the yarn shop, looking for something in but ultimately failing and getting lost.

After a malfunction in technology, the mayor addresses the people of Ember saying “that our city had only experienced a minor malfunction while people were panicking and yelling towards the stage trampling Lina.

After losing poppy, Lina is on journey to find her younger sister until she bumps into Doon who has already found her and the two become acquainted again after a couple weeks.

Lina has been coming home for weeks and she always finds her grandmother at home, searching for her lost item.

Sarge Metal returns to the tunnels from the horrible journey, telling Clary and Lina about his journey and the purpose of it, giving a new location to Lina.

Weeks into her job as a messenger, Lina delivers a message to Clary from Arvin Swinn about his order of food.
