Quite possibly, one of the best books I have ever read. The pure humanity and care Marra pours into every character is profoundly powerful. Each person in the story is a person, thoughtfully fleshed out with the power to inspire and to wrench you heart. The book reminded my at times of The Orphan Master's Son, Schindler's List, and All the Light We Cannot See. Do yourself a favor, read this book.
