So when is this book going to become good

I don't like the protagonist sorry!!! From the first moment he already keeps telling us about how great his female colleagues think he is and I don't care!!!! Then when Vittoria shows up the description immediately goes to how desirable she is bla bla... Girl just lost her father give her a break!!!!!
