Issues are settled somehow, so why is there one more chapter left, and why is it called "The Red Cock"? The more pressing question: Should I read it, or not?

"The indolent are wandering institutions, nothing flows into them, nothing makes them overflow, frozen and isolated, they drift through the world. Why should they move? What moves them? Accidently they belong to the animal kingdom; but in fact they are vegetables."

A new character. A likable one. In this novel? No way. Where's the catch?

Fischerle in English: "A woman who isn't a whore, there's no such thing!" Fischerle in Deutsch: "A Frau, was ka Hur is, gibt's nicht!" I like the original way better (but I disagree).

Finally I got my German copy of "Die Blendung", and I'll read the rest of this book in the language it was published. It's a rather long work, far longer than expected.
