In the middle of reading this wonderful mystery adventure, with spirits subtlely enriching the atmosphere around its characters; I was so enchanted, it dawned on me that here was my perfect book! Being the accessible era that we are in, I was fortunate to find an e-mail address for the author and told him what this book means to me. He has replied that he is glad and bids me to enjoy his forthcoming ghost mystery!

So good! There are numerous, subtle spirit scenes that would make lovely atmospheric films! This is how you write about spirits! They aren't evil. However, they can spook those beholding them for the first time. They should create a feeling of wonderment and awe. Few authors do this. Why make Hollywood horrors or demons of them? It should be easy to find novels or mysteries that show spirits as a fact of life.

Everyone who knows me hears of my life long search for the perfect paranormal mystery ghost story. Most authors make silly "cozy mysteries" or evil; demons or a horror haunting. Very few authors give us my dream genre: spirits that are simply a fact of life, whom we get to see appearing in a story! Well, this $30 Cdn hardcover that my spouse bought for our anniversary last year is that perfect book! I am elated!

So good, so much my favourite niche of paranormal mystery genre, I am tempted to spend this second snowy day of November indulging in it! Cleaning can wait a day and our plants are either indoors or protected and cared for.

Well, this beautiful hardcover book presented a conundrum that was easy for me to resolve. I dislike historical fiction and the worst is wartime themes. Yuck! I love real history and genuinely aged books; not fabricated periods an author has never seen. What is hardest to find is a great ghost story that is neither "cozy" nor "thriller / horror". This looks like the serious "standard mystery" tone that I sought!

Here we go! Another new, high-priced hardcover as a present from my spouse last year. I saved it to read during my birthday month, a much needed and happy pampering tradition. Two cats await me in bed and a third nearby, who have been rolling in the catnip treat I left for them, haha.
