Despite how much science must have advanced in the 20-plus years since this book was first published (pre-Y2K!), it has fascinating snippets of insights into the way our world developed, along with humorous interludes from the Unseen Academy of Discworld, where wizards have gathered to observe the development of a planet quite similar to ours. This book sparks a lot of wonder in its chronological tales of evolution.
