I love this! Bornman is new to writing poetry and spent a year reading through the Bible and reflecting on it daily in poems. Midrash refers to the Jewish practice of expanding on the text with a sense of wonder (as opposed to strict analysis and academic explanation). This collection is meeting me right where I am, and I am enjoying it thoroughly. It is also inspiring me to consider a similar personal project.
