jude might be my least favorite out of the four woman - she’s still super interesting and i love how she handles herself , she really is completely different from the other three , but her story is so much more bland than the other ones idk she just feels like a spoiled rich white bitch who had a rebellious phase - BUT at the same time we got an interracial relationship ! - and a slight confrontation that was meh

most of it was boring until the end because MY GOD OH MY GOD OHMGMGMGM THE REVEAL ????? i don’t know how this is gonna play out or how they’ll eventually come together (because i assume they will???) but my god, how long is stella going to keep up with this lie ????? the only thing i hope is that jude, reese, desiree, and early come out of this happy because they are the only characters that deserve to be istg

stella is interesting

i think i definitely like desiree more because of how true to herself she is but when i read about stella’s life , i just feel so ,,, bad ?
she’s basically surrounded by people she’s terrified of - white men who remind her of the people who hurt her dad and hurt her & white woman who she used to only watch from a distance but now who she pretends to be

anyway i love reese’s pov from a trans person , it’s really interesting to see something like that from the 1970’s
and i absolutely adore how supportive jude is :(

in one chapter we got SO MUCH !!!! trans representation, drag queens, lgbtq+ love, friends to lovers
OMG i’m obsessed with this book jesus i never recovered anything like this from a school book omg

time skip !!!!! jude is older and i love her character sm , cant wait to see how she learns to navigate relationships with others and love in general since she grew up with a skewed perspective - absolutely adore desiree ans early’s relationship , though it’s obvious that they both want something more serious and stable

loving desiree and early’s relationship - curious to see where / how far that will go, especially with desiree’s kid - stella just keeps getting more and more interesting

really like early as a character and can see a lot of character / plot development with him - want to see more of Jude and her role in the town - hope Desiree can get through this and maybe build a new, better relationship with her mom again? - still very curious over Stella

in shock - really good - don’t know where this is going - really want to understand stella but i feel i’ll like desiree more
