The characters in this are mostly like the original, but the plot doesn't really follow the same story (here and there are aspects that resemble it but not enough for this to be like a true retelling). Part of me wonders if this would have worked better as just a historical fiction story set during this time and not a retelling/remix.

FINALLY Lorie shows up. Good grief. I don't know if I would have continued after this chapter if he wasn't introduced... the writing style isn't my favorite.

I like how she adapted their names. Super cute
