So many weird little problems in this book, and not in a good way.

Paper is exceedingly rare, yet and endentured servant seemingly has a collection of porn and comics that she got...how?

Every few pages is a modern meme reference ("studied the blade" etc.) with no possible way for the characters to know them.

The earliest one I remember was a reference to donuts, but nobody seems likely to know what they are.
