The book was extremely redundant and kept rambling on, I was very disappointed and decided to give up on the book.

Continued. I'm sorry. To have him tell her a story as he once did as a child to comfort her.

It's the part that I saw coming from a mile away! The memingers home is invaded by the SS and her brother is near the point of being arrested until the neighbor came to negotiate with the guards and sent them away. The nazis are clearly cracking down on Liesel.

The Meminger's home was raided by a nazi shock police force and Mr. and Mrs. Meminger are taken into custody and Liesel and her brother are left to fend for themselves. I am interested to see what happens. To the two children throughout the next few chapters, for I have no clue what is coming next at this point. Very inductive.

As we progress through the book, we learn that the Memingers have a well known reputation for going against order. Mr Meminger has had several brushes with nazi blitz police along with Mrs. Meminger, for theft and rebellion against the Nazi Reich. I am beginning to really adore the character of Mr. Meminger as he hates tyrannical rule and will do anything to refute it.

The book finally begins to heat up! The memingers have a close encounter with a nazi patrol unit after stealing her first book, the holy bible, from a trash pile. At this point I believe the intensity will pick up.

Liesel begins to explain her deep love and passion for books, and also how she likes it because she knows she is breaking the rules of the nazis. I am growing to like Liesel and her rebellious spirit because it shows a sense of pride and hope at such a young age at such Ana amazingly difficult time in in history.
