This book has so much literary merit that I am disappointed to see it has so rarely been discussed in the journals. One article I did read suggested that the Gentleman with Thistle-Down Hair is evil and so I wanted to refute that publicly and emphasise that he is *amoral*. He literally just does what he wants. It's the whole point.
