I got through the first story about the boy and the helmet. The family ended up donating it to a museum after the little brother went on a field trip to the battle zones of WWI. His experience changed his perspective on war, and he learned more about his great-great-grandfather and what he did before he went off to war.

My current story is kind of a mix of shell shock exposures in WWI soldiers. It gives symptoms that they experienced, it takes a different approach than all the other stories that I had read in the book, as in each story it is usually one person based or first person.

An update on the current story is that the two groups had yet another battle, it occurred at a soccer game, but a half chunk of brick was thrown during the battle on the soccer field and hit a little girl in the head and killed her. The next few weeks were bad at school, and at home, as they interrogate people to figure out who threw the brick in the first place.

The current story that I am in the book is about a boy who lives in a city with a group of other boys who like to have a war against each other. They're kinda having a gang battle since there are two different teams that are fighting against each other. The boy is confused on why they constantly have been fighting against each other.

The current story is about a boy, his dad is currently deployed in WWII. He is sending a "care package" to the troops across the seas. He wonders if his dad will get his package as it is a low percentage that he will.

The current story of the book is very confusing for me at the moment, but I do know that there is a boy who is interested in a British liner that was sunk by a German U-boat, that ended up killing a lot of people. The boy is worried about the dad entering or being drafted for war effort.

The current story that I am reading in the book is about a family trying to figure out why a brick with newspaper wrapped around it has flown through the living room window. The brick that flew through had knocked over a family heirloom that the boy was in possession of at the time. He felt bad and was scared to show his dad that it had fallen off the nightstand and the glass had broken on the face of the watch.

Currently in the book. The boy is talking to Mr. Evans about the shrapnel in the tree. Mr. Evans told the boy that the shrapnel is from a plane accident before the town was built to what it was when it happened, Mr. Evans said that the tree was in the middle of fields, and the plane had crashed after a bomb run on the land.

The 3rd story is about a boy, he finds a tree with a big chunk of metal in the trunk of it. He wants to figure out why it is there, or how. So, he ends up going to an older teacher that was alive during WWII.
