I listen to pop culture books on CD to 'white noise' tinnitus when I'm painting a room or when I'm driving.
2/3 of the way thru Patriot Threat, tinnitus seems preferable.
If I'd been driving, I'd have fallen asleep.
Good novels draw me into the world of the story -- an enjoyable form of escape. Berry's intrusions into the story: "I stayed at this hotel!" break the spell. The voice is especially jarring.
