So far it is a good book. It is about a family with six male children in the 1930-. The mother wants a daughter. When she gives birth to her 7th son, she decides that she will "make" her into the girl that she wants. She names the child Perfect which is a name laughed at by her community. She has given birth with the assistance of a midwife whose secret she knows and swears she will tell if she doesn't go along.
