In the section that was read today , King ( The father of her friend ) pulls up next to the restaurant Starr and her friend just got food from . They end up having a conversation that leads to King handing them money but Starr rejects his offer . Starr’s dad has a conversation with King that leads to them on not so good terms .

Starr wakes up to her family’s greeting . She ends up sitting in the table where her mom ends up making her breakfast. Eventually, they have a conversation of what had happened last night , where Starr gets flashbacks . She finds it unusual of how everyone is treating her because it’s out of the ordinary but understandable . She ends up going to her dad’s shop where again , everyone is acting different .

Starr’s friend doesn’t make it after being shot 3 times . Starr doesn’t feel well knowing that her childhood friend has passed away . She ends up throwing up while going back home . Her parents try to comfort Starr .

Starr and her friend are coming from the party . Having a deep conversation about life . They end up getting pulled over by a cop and things escalate real quickly. Starr makes sure she remembers the conversation she had with her dad about when she ever gets pulled over . Starr’s friend ends up getting shot 3 times and Starr is shocked, mad , and sick .

Starr has gone to a party with her brother’s sister . Starr sees one of her friends from her childhood and have a conversation. That particular woman is having conflict with another woman at the party that ends up causing gun shots all over the place .

So far so good .
