The major difference between psychiatry and other health professonals and their diagnositic manuals is that they can run tests to prove or disprove their theory based on symptoms, psychiatry cannot so it remains subjective..add to that pharma's seeking profits over helping people and bam huge failure. Without knowing what is healthy function everyone is potentially ill then.

Ah the truth indeed. If any other medical profession so operated this way they would be accused of fraud, of malpractice. To make an illness out of normal life experience and its affects. overmedicating people who have no illness. Marketing mind-altering drugs for made up conditions or physical condtions made a mental illness.
