Ellis quivers too—a very slight tremor to her hands, detectable only because I notice everything about her. It’s so easy for Ellis to pretend disaffection, as if our childhood traumas don’t trickle like rainwater through the bricks of our lives. As if she doesn’t care.

CALL THE MYSTERY THRILLER WRITERS OUT
"how depictions of mental illness are used to build suspense by introducing uncertainty and a sense of mistrust, especially with regard to the narrator’s perception of events, and the conflation of magic and madness in female characters.”

I love the whole aesthetic Ellis represents but every time she opens her mind, she sounds so pseudo-intellectual and you can tell she's using Felicity as a mean to her end.

So far it's good. My only problem is I think I can predict the end but I'm really enjoying it regardless. It's so atmospheric and giving me "Secret History" vibes with their tiny dorm and Ellis's pantsuits.
