The sci-fi elements are much better done than the more realistic ones. Let's stick with those, shall we?

It's way too obvious that Netzer is saying, "I'm gonna deal with what it's like to be different!" "I'm gonna deal with having to pull the plug on your dying mother!" It's preventing her from saying anything insightful.

I might've already mentioned this, but the book would be dramatically better if Netzer had cut down on the number of flashbacks. Too much extraneous information.

Meh. I is bored.

I feel so... disconnected from everything that's going on. I mean, I know so much about Sunny and her life story, but I have absolutely no investment in her future.

Meh. This just... isn't interesting. Netzer is trying really, really hard to say something important, but it's just turning out boring.

Maxxon is pretty interesting, I'll give Netzer that.

After discussing this with my class, I think the problem is Netzer is trying too hard to be unique, to write about unusual things. It's really falling flat, because of that.

The plot has been completely stopped for a lengthy infodump. Not great writing.

Meh. I'm not fond of this writing style. It strikes me as kind of clunky and awkward.
