Jayson
Jayson is starting

Notes:
(1) I've been putting off this book for a while.
- Partly because it's over 500-pages and bound to be heavy lifting.
- Partly because its constituent parts were included out of context in other books, and I wanted to read them all first. It beats reading random pieces of this after I've read the book as a whole.
- Partly because pieces I have read weren't that great.

Notes:
(1) This is one of those event crossovers that tries to cram in as many characters as possible to make it seem consequential and epic. Of course, all the characters Greg Pak-created return and take center stage.
- They were hardly memorable to begin with, so it's like attending a party full of people you kind of know, but need a reminder of how exactly you know them.

Notes:
(1) It's not really a spoiler that Lois Lane is possessed by Brainiac. You learn that at the outset. I wish there was some sort of recap or quick flashback to explain how.
- I've read every single Superman book leading up to this, and I can't even remember how or why.
(2) I don't like Superman arguing with Doomsday in his head. Monsters shouldn't speak so coherently.

Notes:
(1) I enjoy Tony S. Daniel's take on Wonder Woman, especially how he went with her classic 60s mod look.
- Shame he never had any sort of run drawing her outside of "Superman/Wonder Woman."
(2) I like that "evil" Clark Kent drunk dials Lois Lane to hook up and calls Wonder Woman "gorgeous" as a pet name.
- Apparently "evil" boy scout is just run-of-the-mill frat boy.

Notes:
(1) I've read nearly all this before in other books, but now it's in order, and finally makes sense. Weird!
- The best issue so far is one I haven't read, mostly due to the Ken Lashley art.
(2) I have no idea if I'm enjoying this book because it's genuinely good, or because I'm coming off reading "Klarion" and "Black Canary," two of the worst series of recent memory.
