It seems like there's a lot of religious allusions in this book already. It's like Siddartha is a god even though he's only a kid.

I'm amazed by how much this book connects with the analysis of the self we've been doing in class. Siddhartha discovers that the self is not, in fact, found by becoming more pure and empty but instead by becoming more full and observant. This is interesting because it's so easy to never find either of those and there is no way of knowing when we've found the truest self.
