So far so good. I like it when wife beaters are mangled and killed. I think Preacher and Jack are up for that task.

Loved this: "It took a lot to straighten your back like that, hold your head up, be the strength and not the victim." That's the description of what heroism truly is.

Oh, I love Preacher. He's such a big teddy bear!

I'm with you! Interesting, isn't it, how they can beat on someone smaller than they are, and then not enjoy it when they're the recipient of the same treatment by someone bigger than themselves.
I haven't run into Ian in her books yet. Is he introduced in this one? I love that name, too.Agreed — fascinating how abusers are all about picking on people who are weaker than they are but scream about unfairness when they get taken down.
I've written a lot about domestic violence as a journalist, and it's amazing how many readers accused me of being a "man hater" for opposing spousal abuse. Makes me shake my head every time.
No, Ian shows up down in a few books down the road.Well, I don't know for sure, but I can just bet that those who are accusing you of man hate are either mothers who are enabling their son's behaviors (I know one of those), the abusers themselves, or the abused men/women who still haven't gotten that "it's NOT their fault."
