I’m starting to enjoy the book. The pacing is like listening to a fast-paced orchestra piece during a high speed chase in a cartoon (the picture in my head is Tom chasing Jerry). Needless to say I read this book and it’s like a cardio workout cuz I’m mentally tasking myself to follow the pace of the author. It’s nice though. The story line is getting more interesting and the character developments are funny

It reminds me of Chinua Achebe’s literary style in Things Fall Apart and Arrow of God. This connection has made reading the story much easier and also I’m gaining a better understand of who’s who and the progression of events. But the lack of years is making it hard to decipher how much time has elapsed

Like the Power, the book starts rather quickly. Yet the first 10 pages are filled with events that seem to be happening fast yet really slow because of the attention to detail Gabriel gives to the personalities of one of the main characters. It’s very different from the stories I’d usually read in terms of flow and cultural references. It’s hard to follow yet I can’t stop reading
