Mmmm Sam collapses and then is Ana the one that ends up in hospital? She had a breakdown. All of those non spoken emotions are catching up with her.
I’m not into the book at all I sure there’s public for it.
But having some continuity problems is something I just can’t “unsee” and be fine with it.

In page 12 (1945) Anna can’t actually have a conversation in English as her English is very poor, yet she’s married to a British man whom she met in Palestine working with him because she could speak English and was a very good typist, now in page 108 is having full on conversations with her mother in-law just few months or maybe a year after?
This book is annoying

Is annoying me more and more that the “several years” of Anna living in Palestine the languages spoken there back then we’re not really mention but her few months in Germany are heavily splatter with German words. I wonder if that’s just laziness of the author or were edited out by the publishing house.

I just lost all interest in the main character, you feel you are getting to know her but then the author changes character, over and over again, changes location and time too. I have no idea where the sto rh is going at all.
