The Maltese Falcon is a fun book to read because readers imagine becoming a private detective when they suspend their disbelief. They investigate.
Chapter seven—G in the Air—includes a literary conceit about Flitcraft. Why? It’s in the book, but not the movie!
In order to “be on the same page” I use a digital copy of the first edition (Knopf 1930) from the internet archive so that I don’t have pagination problems.

I’m doing an inspectional reading for a thorough perusal of the book and a look at the 1941 Movie.
Along with this, I’ll review the book and post the result here and at the Internet Archive’s Open Library.
Using a tool called mindline to organize my thoughts as I read, I’ll post the complete mind map as it develops on their web site and cloud.
Finally, I’ll use Freemind for a mind map jpg to share.
