Part 2. All the twelve houses are empty with them being abandoned in haste. They find a jeep but crash and one of the party is eriously injured. They end up back at the village.

Maura is pursueded to leave the medical conference with an old friend, his thirteen year old daughter and another couple. A days cross country skiing is what she is looking forwardto. Unfortunately they get lost in the falling snow, the car tips over when they try to turn around and they find a deserted village.
