This isn't a book you sob to atm but it's really sweet and grounded even though it's basically a ghost story. Blams a very mediocre man so yeah its about surviving Nazis but it isn't heroic, so far its about how his surviving is just as incidental as the death of everyone he knew, and coming to terms with that loneliness and guilt and memory. I really like it, its not fast or massively heavy but it hits you
