Saw someone saying that the author always found out reasons for Alice to be part of the aventures so she could be one of the main characters, but it’s obvious when she just randomly always shows up when there’s no reason for her to be here. Can’t complain about that bc I love her but- the author could’ve made separate books to tell adventures she’d go throught on her own.

Convinced the spook doesn’t love Meg as much as he thinks he does to daily drug her so she basically doesn’t remember who she is. I would’ve loved to read about a full-minded Meg - and wish for her rebellion at some point in the book.
