Charlotte Mason responded to the ideas of Herbart and Froebel. I’m very curious about current education ideas. Are they philosophies put forward by specific people or more general trends? Most of the teachers I know don’t read education theory so there seems to be a strain of pragmatism—doing what works—instead of guiding principles.
