Reading this on a whim bc I apparently don't have enough light reading on my Kindle. I hated The Time Traveller, but fortunately this is a lot kinder to read - the protagonist is fun and the book wastes almost no time to get into the adventure. The better Jules Verne so far...

Okay I am nearly 25% in and I don't care about anything. There are no stakes and I thought they would spend some time in different countries so we get a sense of adventure, but it just rushes through it to explain how they get over the next roadblock. Not what I am looking for - way too in the weeds for anything engaging. More power to you if you like it.
