So far I feel this is even more challenging to get into than The Only Good Indians—not only is the pace quite slow, a pretty thorough knowledge of slashers films is almost a prerequisite.

You really have to know your (American) slasher film history to get the full experience — Stephen Graham Jones is pulling some obscure references! (I went through a slasher obsession and still barely heard of some of these titles)
