He makes the distinction between covenants of promise and covenants of law. Those that were of God's oath were covenants of promise. Those that were oaths given by Israel covenants of law. Interesting distinction. Not sure if he is right but it sounds easy to distinguish. The question then is, whether the biblical covenants actually align the way Kline has attempted to bring his scapel of interpretation to bear.
