Deep in the ocean, the Soviets have one of their nuclear submarines inching towards Cuba. However, intel has collected crumbs that this is a week ahead of schedule, which only adds to the tension. Aboard, it would seem some of the crew are seeking to defect, though they are armed to the gills. CIA officer Jack Ryan has been pulled in to help decipher things and his expertise might be useful in making contact.

As the sub’s whereabouts continues to baffle, Jack Ryan is put in a position to begin formulating a plan as to how this needs to go down. With some of the Soviet crew obviously at odds with their highers-up, it will take something special to rescue them and not admit to the USSR that the sub has been compromised. Ryan thinks he may have a plan, but it will take stealth and a great deal of patience. Everyone waits!
