The mystery of her departure is the least of his worries, as it would seem his recently published novel has a secret or two that could ruin him if it comes out. Answers are elusive so far, but the police have many questions.

As Nye tries to get a better handle on what's happened, his worst fears a re realised when he becomes a suspect in a murder. However, he is able to dodge some of the tough questions, as he has no clue what happened. As the story progresses, new narratives become important, events seen from another angle. However, when another body turns up, Nye is beginning to wonder if someone has been trying to silence the truth.
