In the book The Penderwicks, light and dark is a symbol. There are 4 Penderwick sisters and they all have dark brown curly hair and dark brown eyes, except for their 11 year sister named Skye. She has light blue eyes and light blonde hair which makes her stand out from the rest. As I keep reading this book, I think I will find more elements to the symbols of light and dark.
