I know I loved this book in the past, but Brown is so wrong on his church history it rips me out of the story. His entire premise is based on a fraud. I found a 60 Minutes expose on his Priory of Sion that showed how he lifted names straight out of the papers, but didn’t check to see that the list of Grand Masters was provided by a known forger. https://bit.ly/3dywDBn Too funny.

I know I used to love this story. I loved how quickly it moved along. I forgave its profane mangling of history, but at the time I was a fan. I hadn’t been punished for being a fan with that meaningless mole hill called Origin yet. I loved Brown’s fanciful retelling of history at that time. Now I can see Brown is a literary troll—a populist muckraker for lulz.
