tbh this book is sloppy and not in the "fun" kind definition a genre like this would use

BUDDY THIS ENTIRE BOOK HAS A ONE-TRACK MIND AHAHAHAHA

if ANYONE "throws me over their shoulder, moving to the bedroom" I will suddenly become a 1 ton slippery eel because that is NOT sexy, especially in the consistently non-consensual portrayal of it in this book hnggggg

and here's the typical 3/4 almost-finale angst

"nibbling" is the equivalent of "purring" in this book ugh I hate it

I realize the reason I don't read in this genre is because it's more focused on getting in each other's pants vs actual connections. Sometimes the emotional is there, but it always feels (to me) like something they work to get past just to jump each other's bones . . . and it's really not my thing

so if anyone has recs where it's a BIG focus on emotional connection, please share haha
