So far, so good. Classic (and well-crafted) young-person alternate-reality fantasy. Set in a sort-of-victorian world, we're off to a brisk start, with a young, likable protagonist and nice mystery thrown in. For an adult reader if feels maybe too much like a children's book, but the world-building is interesting so far, inviting us to explore.
