through all the pain and suffering of the ships crew, they were able to win justice for their ship. Though their beloved ship, the Indianapolis, is gone, and their captain, who was fired for suspicion of causing the Indianapolis, is nowhere to be found, they were still able to do what they wanted to accomplish.

The crew members recall their past in court bringing back memories long lost after the lost of the ship. He recalls the weapon that the Indianpolis had carried the uranium 235, the nuclear bomb. The crew had just loaded 30000000 pound worth of dynamite on to their ship and as they watched for radiation leaks, they set sailed.

In this book we see Indianapolis's crews love for their captain and ship doing everything to set their captain free and having a hatred for the naval department who did not rescue the Indianapolis in time. Instead seeing this opportunity, the navy decide to put the blame for the sinking of this ship on the captain rather then the torpedo that sunk it.
