I don't think there is anything Starflight can do to save the Rainwings. I think the Rainwings will be able to fight back which might save them for a while. I just think the Nightwing's plan is evil in a lot of ways.

I honestly thought Battlewinner would be quite a bit different. I also have a few questions like how is her skin not burning in lava. Whatever, I don't think it'll be useful anyway. I also think Battlewinner should have listened to them more instead of sinking back into the lava after a few ominous words.

Surprising but also not surprising. I knew that Mastermind would be imprisoning the Rainwings the instant he was mentioned as a scientist. Mainly because in the last book, Rainwings were being imprisoned and tested on which testing stuff and experimenting is what a scientist would do. Mastermind, being a scientist, makes him the most likely person to be experimenting on the Rainwings.

What I'm currently wondering is where the Nightwing kingdom is on the planet. If it was close to the original island, the dragons would surely see the smoke coming from the volcano indicating that it is nowhere near the original island. Same situation with Pantala. Maybe this volcano will eventually make a whole new island. Seems like a crappy new island though.
