I began to think of my grandpa's stories of the Vietnam. I wonder if he has a story like this that he does not want to tell because of his PTSD. Has he ever had to retrieve his dead friends? I sure hope that he never did. These poor men probably spent days and even weeks cleaning as the rest of America grieved with them.

If I could talk to the author of this book, I would tell him to add characters. I loved reading this book, even though I already knew most of it he presented the information in a new and interesting way. However, I personally feel like it could be even better if he added characters to bring us into the minds of a soldier experiencing the events of WW2.

The most important thing I learned about is that many factories mostly cars in the US were replaced to make supplies for planes, tanks, ships, and other important things in the war. Car production in the US was down tremendously so when the war was over car sales skyrocketed.

My favorite part of the books has to have been when the nation rallied together to fight a common enemy. These days we seem to fight with each other all the time and I really want to see us come together as we did back then. It would be a great experience to be a part of and it would most likely make history.

I dislike this author's writing because he did not add any characters. If he added characters you could be involved in the story but without them, it just seems like a school research paper. Even if he had fictional characters or had multiple stories from different people it would be so much better.

I think the relationship between the US and Russia is interesting because during WW2 we were close allies fighting together against a common enemy. Now, tensions between us two are always rising and falling as war is constantly threatened. Is this just because Putin's dislike of President Biden or has this been a slowly boiling quarel.

I think that the American Navy is going to push towards Southern China and fight in the battle of the Pacific. If they are successful in sinking the numerous submarines and ships there I think this will accelerate the end of the war than if they just played the passive game. Unfortunately there are many lives that are at risk if they do enter the war for the Pacific.

As I read, I felt proud because our nation worked together to get to the war and help our allies. Millions of men enlisted in the military even If they were not old enough they tried to sneak in. This just goes to show that they were the greatest generation we will ever have. They were not soft like the generation we have today.

Something I learned from my reading was that they reused multiple ships after the attack. They sealed the holes, drained the water, and got some of the ships back and bottle ready. They were soon accompanied by many other brand new ships which left room for them to be retired through the war, Some even made it through the war and were retired later on.

It seems like America is about to join the war. They are defiantly very enraged about the bombing of Pearl Harbor. They where not even involved and the Japanizes decided to bomb all of our navy. This is probably a war crime but I am not 100% sure.

I really dislike the idea of not having characters. I feel like the story could be extremely exciting and interesting if it had a main character telling the story. It would be very enthralling to have an eye witness account of all the things that happened throughout the war.
