I feel bad for Louie because he can't get away from the bird and catch a break. Every time things start going out good it immediately turns around to the worse of the worse. Like when he was taken care of by the Japanese doctors but then sent to execution Island, or when the bird finally left just for Louie to be transferred right back to him in worse conditions.

If the rest of the guards didn't like the bird and were treated poorly by him, them why didn't they outnumber him and tell him to stop since he is a war criminal and cruel to the guards. Also it was really smart of them to figure out a way to sneak a bunch of food in order to survive , but If they get caught I think that they'd all get beat for it.

I can't believe that they made it that far and survived that long on the raft just to find land and be captured by the Japanese. Right now they seem nice, but I don't think that they are going to be nice much longer when they realize that they were pilots for the U.S. military

Why would Mac do something like that? He could possibly caused them all to die because he made a stupid decision like that. If I were Louie I would be very mad because they could have drifted hundreds of miles off route over night and possibly never be found by the search planes. Also, Why would the raft pockets waste room by including fishing supplies without any bait?

It is sad that Harry didn't make it and I can't believe how Phil managed to land the plane with it being that damaged from the bombers. I feel like it is a bad idea for them to take this green hornet on a rescue mission when it seems this incapable to fly correctly and safely.

I can't believe that there plane is the only one still flying. Hopefully Louie doesn't end up being shot and they can get out of this situation. I think that Phil is a very good pilot for having kept the plane up for so long and I wonder if they can continue to stay up in the air with all of the Zeros chasing them.

The plane that they were talking about sounds like an awful thing to drive for how big and cramped it is. It is good that they still enjoyed training with it together because when they go on actual missions they won't feel nervous or irritated about it since they are so used to it.

If I were Louie, I would feel as if the results were unfair and that I was robbed too if I saw that I clearly won, but it would make me want to try even harder to beat him in the next race. So far this book is pretty good, when I first started reading it it got a little boring but it immediately picked back up.

So far I like this book and find it very interesting. Right now I think that Louie has done a good job changing from who he was into a better person that his hometown is proud of. I'm also wondering what made him join the military if he was so well off with track?
