So far this book is really sad. I feel so bad for Ning, whos being forced to leave the only home and family shes ever known. We as the reader can see that her mom is doing it bc she loves her, but Ning, as a 12 yr old, thinks it's bc her mom doesnt love her. Although, I think that Ning knows at the bottom of her heart how her mom feels, but she just can't understand that yet. I have a feeling it's going to get sadder
