Okay, this last book in the series was just stupid. I thought I'd miss my Hamish McBeth books, but I think the issue has been resolved by a wild cat emanating pure evil, a bullying cop who's over the top trying to murder other officers and one too many Scottish coppers who would really rather be chefs. I think Ms Beaton lost it this time.
