They discuss what they are going to do. Mhino said they should spend the night in the maze. Thomas goes to bed eventually but the grievers come out and invade the glade. The comfort of the glade is now compromised. The chapter ends with tally bursting in the homestead. The tension is really well written and it’s been fun to read.

Teresa gets thrown in jail and Thomas try’s to get them to understand that she is innocent. Newt says that they will consider if they can survive the night. Thomas visits her in jail and she says she afraid of greviers and it weird because she hasn’t heard anyone say that before. I think Teresa gets more suspicious as the books comes along.

Teresa is talking to Thomas out loud and she talks about how her memory is blurred. They talk about how familiar they seem to each other even if they can’t remember. Alby gets at Thomas asking why Teresa came to him and then and at Teresa for messing up the glade. I think the drama of the book adds to the excitement.

They find a portal in the maze by throwing rocks and they think that because the greivers have to come from somewhere. They went to the map room to see the changes in the maze. The girl wakes up and says she wants to tell Thomas something before she forgets. I’m on edge about everything unfolding the way it is.

It was morning time and the sky was gray. They sent Thomas into the maze because the plants will die without the sun. Thomas wants to tell him what he heard but didn’t want to be suspected with working for the creators. I wonder what would happen if the rumor gets to everybody.

Thomas got his running shoes and a watch. Mino shows Thomas a weapon room and he was excited but realized it was for the day they might have to fight the grievers. They have eight runners for each section and Thomas is getting ready for his first run.

Thomas gets out of jail with them think it is a possibility that the memories were fake. As Thomas is eating they give him the run down on what to expect during runner training. All maze paths just go back to the glade. I’m really wondering what’s going to happen with his training.

Thomas is in jail and there isn’t much in there besides an old chair. Chuck gets pretty deep and talks about how he cried every night and he wanted to go home. Thomas was made at the creators because they deprived chuck of his life and I think I feel his emotion as I read the book.

Thomas runs into the maze and he’s been in there for a long time. He goes to sleep without talking to anybody. He says he wished to have a break and chuck says he can have a break in the slammer. I think the chapter as a whole was underwhelming.

Thomas says that he feels like he’s been in the glade before and insists on being a runner. They check up on the girl to see if his memory would be jogged and she was in his head. He runs out the room to escape the voice. As he runs, Teresa says in his head, “It was you and me, Tom. We did this to them.” I think it was really cool how she kinda trigged the events.

Thomas and Alby speak privately. Alby says she saw Thomas with another girl working with the creators. Alby says how the outside world is apocalyptic and understands that the creators probably made them forgot so they could live peaceful lives. I think I’m anticipating a future chapter with the creators.
